Burkina Faso, ‘the land of the upright people’, is a West African country home to over 18 million people. Beset with political and health issues, the country also suffers from one of the lowest standards of education in the world. Article 25 worked with the local community in the town of Gourcy to help construct a school that could accommodate a larger number of pupils and protect them from the extremely hot climate. Award winning photographer, Grant Smith visited the completed site earlier this year to document the build and its impact on students.
