Eight designs shortlisted for the 2014 EcoHaus competition. You can view each scheme here. The brief invited proposals for an aspirational waterside home of architectural merit designed to the low-energy PassivHaus standard. The potential sites are at Silver Lake in Dorset. This former quarry is being developed as a vacation home area by the Habitat First Group, which aims to build the winning scheme. The winner will be announced, along with those in other categories of the 2014 Sunday Times British Homes Awards, at a presentation luncheon on 19 September.
Robert Adam of ADAM Architecture chaired this year’s jury.
The Sunday Times British Homes Awards are sponsored by Homebase and are in partnership with the AJ, Passivhaus Trust, Kingspan Insulation, Viessmann, Habitat First Group and The Building Centre.
