We are preparing for spring!
Using the same clay that most of London is built out of, we will design our own plant pots. In the second half of the session, we will use our pots to plant some of London’s most important wildflowers to take home and nurture.
Once the plants have established and the risk of frost has passed (usually by April) you can transplant the flowers outside - they are native flowers so any park, pavement edge, street plant box or garden is good. You can then save your beautiful plant pot, cherish it as a work of art….or you can just put the whole lot outside and the clay will return to the ground it came from helping to nurture the flowers as it slowly disintegrates!
The workshop will be followed by an optional short, relaxing walk through Bloomsbury scattering wild flower seeds as we walk. During the walk we will also do a bee count to see how some of London’s smallest inhabitants are doing.
The workshop and walk are suitable for children aged 5 and over. Children under 10 years old need an adult to stay with them.
