Britain was at the cutting edge of architecture, creating well-intentioned Corbusier-inspired social housing. However thousands of estates in the UK and Europe are failing and facing demolition. This event brings together urban renewal specialists, developers and specialists in place-making to find out how we might refurbish or rebuild our estates to create flourishing communities.
Speakers include:
- Nicholas Boys Smith, founding director of Create Streets
- Pat Hayes, executive director of regeneration at the London Borough of Ealing
- Julia Moulder, executive director of development at Catalyst
- Chair: Lewis Blackwell, curator of the exhibition, Re/making The Street
This event is free to attend but booking is essential.
This event accompanies Re/making The Street, an exhibition curated by The Built Environment Trust, and is part of the London Festival of Architecture.
