The Building Centre has been hosting The Engineering Club for over 5 years on behalf of a number of local engineering practices. The Engineering Club provides an opportunity for engineers to get together with friends to discuss the broad aspects of engineering design in an informal setting.
In September The Building Centre Main Gallery featured Engineering Sketches, an exhibition of concept and project drawings by practicing engineers. Zhi Zhao of Arup received the prize for the best sketch in the exhibition from one of the judges Steve Webb of Webb Yates Engineers.
At the next Engineering Club talk, From Flour to Power: Small Scale Hydro on 12 October Anthony Battersby of Mendip Power Group and Rachel Feilden of River Energy Networks will discuss small scale hydro power projects which recapture river energy resources previously used in old mills.
