Join us for Retrofit Meets
Retrofit Meets is an in-person series of free panel events that connects people through the core themes of our latest retrofit exhibition with the National Retrofit Hub (NRH). Produced as part of Retrofit 25 and taking place on Wednesday evenings at the Building Centre, this event series will see panellists discuss their latest research and completed or on-going projects/solutions. There will be time for audience Q&A, and a chance to see the Retrofit 25 show after the event (until 8pm).
This session explores the theme Retrofit & Communities, with speakers sharing how we might unlock the potential for community-led retrofit to transform local relationships and buildings. The event will be chaired by Laura Broderick, Head of Partnerships and Programmes at the Building Centre, and the conversation will address the headline of ‘What’s stopping us?’ in retrofit today.
Our speakers are:
- Helene Gosden, Associate Director, Arup - communities at the heart of Retrofit at Scale
- Hannah Wooller, Director, Matter of Place Architects CIC - community buildings and retrofit in Norfolk
- Naomi Rubbra, CEO, Footwork - supporting community innovators across England
- Helen Priestley, Net-Zero Engagement Lead, Calderdale Council – Citizens’ Jury in Todmorden, Yorkshire
