Prefabrication and off-site production: dawn of a new construction era?

Breakfast Seminar
Tue 13 Oct 2015

The opportunities to prefabricate and move construction processes off-site have an exciting history – and potentially a greater future.

Advances in off-site processes and projects in recent months make this event an essential briefing. The session brings together experience from specific recent examples and experts with a wide knowledge and interest in the potential of the field. The merits and issues for contractors, architects and engineers will be shared and examined.

Teams involved in projects as diverse as award-winning The Leadenhall Building, Y:Cube housing, Pop Brixton and the container-house outside The Building Centre will examine new approaches and opportunities.  The breakfast briefing will conclude with an opportunity to visit A New House for London with its lead designers.

Carl Turner, Carl Turner Architects

David Scott, Lead Structural Director, Engineering Excellence Group, Laing O’Rourke
