Tom Lewith of New-works and Andy Tugby of Human Nature will together present on the mass timber strategy for The Phoenix development in Lewes, Sussex.
Tom will start by sharing how his architectural practice has engaged with Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) in the past - the opportunities and flexibility it can offer. He will share how they have developed that thinking by exploring the tension between standardisation and customisation, and how that was applicable to early work on The Phoenix.
Andy will then talk about the development of the mass timber strategy and design for the site and what that has facilitated for The Phoenix locally in terms of timber supply and labour. Andy will also discuss the strategy for implementation with on-site MMC opportunities.
The webinar will be hosted by Laura Broderick of the Building Centre, with time for Q&A with our audience after the presentations.
