We are delighted to have Lewis Jones, co-founder of the design collective Assemble, at the Building Centre to share the work of Granby Workshop, an architectural ceramics manufacturer located at the street corners of Granby St and Cairns St, Liverpool.
The workshop was started in 2015 by Assemble, as part of the community-led efforts to rebuild Granby, a Liverpool neighbourhood that had suffered decades of poorly planned regeneration initiatives. Interested in developing new approaches to construction, Lewis moved to Liverpool three years ago to help start the workshop and now leads on their architectural projects and commissions.
Granby Workshop’s Encaustic Clay Tiles and Smoked Handles are featured in the 'Hand Held to Super Scale: Building with Ceramics’ exhibition curated by the Building Centre exhibitions team and Fettle Studio. Supported by the Built Environment Trust.
