What is the place of models in archives devoted to architecture and design? What is the relationship between drawings and models? What are the specific questions and opportunities central to collecting architectural models, how do you care for them, and how can you share them with audiences?
To discuss the challenges and delights of adding models to collections we invited Charles Hind (Chief Curator and H.J. Heinz Curator of Drawings RIBA British Architectural Library), Niall Hobhouse (Founder of Drawing Matter) and Olivia Horsfall Turner (Senior Curator, Architecture and Design, V&A) to join Simona Valeriani, co-curator of Shaping Space - Architectural Models Revealed.
This event is part of the Shaping Space - Architectural Models Revealed programme, funded by the AHRC, led by the V&A and the Building Centre.
We would like to thank our supporters; Amalgam Modelmaking, 4D Modelshop, B.15 Workshop, Drawing Matter, GHA Group, The University of Manchester, MAP Laboratory (CNRS), and Model Platform.
