TVCB Barriers
These pre-cast, superior concrete barriers are conjoined using M24 diameter high tensile bolts and can be attached to the carriageway or ground. This interlocking system means that continuous barriers can be created, whilst the concrete construction offers robust anti-tampering, weather-resistant security.
Each block also offers a pre-cast arrow, allowing deployment to also direct traffic flow and each unit measures as follows:
- Length: 3000 mm
- Height: 800 mm
- Width: 450 mm
- Weight: 2500 kg
Safety, security and stability
Of all of the temporary safety barrier systems available currently, SafeSite Facilities TVC barriers demonstrate the lowest deflection under impact and have been proven to withstand impacts of up to 50 mph, making them ideal for roadways around towns and residential areas, as well as faster-traffic roads.
A linked system can be fixed to a carriageway for use as crash barriers to separate traffic streams, to protect the public from roadside hazards and protect on-site work teams and individuals from vehicles passing close by. All SafeSite Facilities TVCBs (or V28 barriers) are fully compliant with the BSEN1317:1998 part 1 &2 criteria.
As a robust, heavy-weight barrier system, TVCBs can also be used to secure against unwanted vehicular access to construction sites, car parks, forecourts and property boundaries, as well as offering a visible defence against vehicle attacks such as ram-raids and potential terrorist attacks. They can also be deployed to offer additional impact resistance to weaker or older constructions, such as bridge piers or previously damaged permanent roadside barriers.
With their weight of 2500 kg each, TVC barriers can also be used to offer on-site stability from their optional use as counterweights for piling rigs, scaffolding, suspended shuttering and similar structures.
