With the increased uptake of ground source heat pumps and other renewable energy systems, pre-insulated pipe is saving contractors both time and money in reducing heat losses across the whole system. Using the cutting edge RAUVITHERM production technology, REHAU have developed the RAUVITHERM Cool pipe system for low temperature applications such as ground source heat pumps.
RAUVITHERM Cool is manufactured in North Wales to help reduce REHAU’s carbon emissions.
It is important to insulate header pipes for ground source heat pumps to avoid transmission between flow and return in narrow trenches. This is typically required between the manifold and the building. The RAUVITHERM Cool carrier pipe is SDR 11 PE 100 pipe, made to BS EN 12201, which can be used with SDR 11 electrofusion couplers.
To improve flexibility, REHAU has optimised the RAUVITHERM Cool pipe composition to improve handling on site. The pipe is available in 40 UNO, 50 UNO and 63 UNO, the most common sizes used in ground source header pipes.
