Construct square, rectangular or circular tanks using our precast concrete tanks walling system. Our tanks are suitable for storing clean and contaminated liquids, up to 4m high; this system is BS 8007 compliant.

The tanks can be constructed above or below ground, making them less obtrusive to their surroundings. Installation of the precast wall elements is fast, safe and efficient. Units are placed onto a reinforced concrete foundation and shimmed to level. The buttresses on the back of the wall enable the units to free-stand during installation, additional propping may not be required, depending on site conditions. Reinforcement bars are inserted through precast holes in the unit and tied into the floor reinforcement before pouring the floor slab. An outer reinforced concrete beam is then cast to further secure and seal the base joint.

The units interlock to ensure good alignment and a Hydrotite water-stop creates an effective seal in the vertical joints. Once installed the units are bolted together to create a compression joint. Thanks to the unique tongue and groove system the wall panels can be installed on a radius to create circular tanks, the 1m long sections enable tanks of any diameter, length or width to be formed.

Wall units are manufactured under factory control, have been designed to relevant British (BS) standards and are CE marked.

Below is a table outlining the characteristics of the precast concrete tanks. Here you can find information on concrete strength, material density and surcharge capacity. If you require any further details please contact us and one of our product experts will be happy to provide more information.

Concrete Strength - C50
Compressive strength of concrete after 28 days of curing.
Material Density - 18
Maximum material density of retained material, measured in kN/m³
Surcharge Capacity - 0
Maximum surcharge capacity of precast element, measured in kN/m²
Design Life - 50
Number of years precast element has been designed for.
Connection
Precast elements interlock with tongue and groove edges.
Edge Detail
Square edges enable close alignment & reduced movement joints between units.
Concrete Finish - A
Smooth mould finish Type A to precast element, defined in British Standards.
Fire Resistance - N/A
Number of minutes precast element would provide fire resistance.
Reinforcement Cover - 30
Minimum cover to steel reinforcement in precast element, measured in mm.
Tolerances - 6
Typical manufacturing tolerances & dimensional variations +/- in mm.
Foundation Type - RC
A reinforced concrete (RC) foundation is required for installation.
Retained Face - DL
Double Load - Precast element is suitable for retaining material on both faces
