LAMINATED GLASS SOLUTIONS FROM GLASS AFTERCARE
Turning the simple medium of glass into visually encapsulating installations through the inclusion of a number of creative additional processes, including maximising the potential of lamination, is a major part of the design expertise provided by Glass Aftercare.
Colour laminated glass is manufactured using standard clear float glass, but it is also available in specialist glasses. These include low iron (crystal clear) and a variety of body tints such as blue, green, bronze and grey. Colour laminating can also be combined with other decorative glass products and finishes such as kiln forming, sandblasting and colour coating.
Decorative structural glass laminates are also available with a wide selection of material inclusions and interlayers. Included in the standard range are a rich variety of wood veneer choices. Fabric laminating is a creative process that allows the inclusion of a selection of fabrics within protective glass layers. The use of regular woven cloth, delicately constructed textiles or printed fabrics combine the beauty, colour and texture of the fabric with the inherent structural strength and practicality of glass.
Another design led solution is the use of a coloured PVB interlayer with a broad palette of colour permutations from subtle transparent and translucent colours through to opaque. These can be used for a wide range of applications including screens, partitions and cladding. Glass Aftercare works with architects, design consultants, developers and individual clients in order to craft highly innovative solutions that maximise the potential of laminated glass.
