Coming up with the products and components that provide installers with quick and easy solutions to problems encountered on site, is part of Scolmore’s ongoing product development programme. The latest addition to its lighting range is no exception - an Insulation Support Bracket for use with the Inceptor Nano 5 fire-rated dimmable downlights – providing a simple and cost-effective solution when insulation is required.
Designed to be attached directly to the Inceptor Nano5 Fixed and Nano 5 Adjustable downlights, the Insulation Support Bracket allows installers to lay thermal insulation over the Inceptor Nano – creating a 20mm air-space above the driver, which lets air circulate and cool. This allows the driver to dissipate heat more effectively and in turn, means the luminaire runs cooler.
The key to this product is its simple, fast fit attachment method:
Align the insulation support clip with the downlight springs, ensuring the slot is facing towards the inside of the spring bracket. Gently squeeze the bracket arms inwards to ensure both slots can slide fully through the spring on the inside of the spring bracket. Slide both slots fully though the spring on the inside of the spring bracket to ensure attachment.
With Inceptor Nano 5 already enjoying tremendous success since its launch in October last year, Scolmore is confident that the availability of the Insulation Support Bracket will prove popular with installers as a cost-effective, quick method to meet the requirements necessary when thermal insulation is being used in an installation.
The Insulation Support Brackets – made from polycarbonate and in Scolmore’s trademark blue colour – are available in boxes of 10 units.
Inceptor Nano5 is a range of compact, fire-rated, dimmable downlights, which pack an array of features into their shallow profiles. With a highly competitive price point for the features and benefits offered, the high-performance, 4.8W LED lighting products are designed to have mass market appeal and are suitable for a variety of uses in domestic and commercial applications.
There are two models available - Inceptor Nano5 Fixed and Inceptor Nano5 Adjustable, which allows the luminaire to be moved and directed to where the light is needed. They each feature a compact, high-powered driver which is designed to be as small as possible whilst remaining suitable for installation in a fire rated ceiling. As the smaller of the two, Inceptor Nano5 Fixed is designed for a 60/mm cut out and will fit into a recess depth of just 45mm, while the Adjustable version is designed for a 75mm cut out, with a recess depth fitting of 54mm.
Both Inceptor Nano5 products feature the Flow Connector, Scolmore’s pre-wired connection system that is designed to speed up installation and to allow even faster removal for testing and replacement of components. The company’s trademark blue strip of intumescent adds an extra barrier of protection against fire by expanding to fill the gap between the plasterboard and the light fitting. Inceptor Nano5 offers a 30, 60, and 90 minute fire rating, and is acoustic and airflow compliant.
Inceptor Nano5 utilises the latest LED technology and the custom-built, multi-faceted lens creates a halogen-style lighting effect.
With an ingress protection rating of IP65 for the fixed bezel and IP54 for the adjustable, they are both suitable for use in situations where moisture and low pressure water jets are a factor such as kitchen, bathroom and wet room installations.
Part L compliant, Inceptor Nano5 comes with a 2 year warranty.
