EJOT provides a growing range of innovative solutions for the installation of ETICS (External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems) – also known as EWI (External Wall Insulation) systems.
The EJOT brand is renowned in the EWI sector for insulation anchors, but with its range of profiles and portfolio of post-installation attachment products, today the company offers a comprehensive single-supply component solution.
This means that EJOT is uniquely positioned to provide EWI systems companies with a variety of premium products designed to support thermal performance in three key areas of a system’s installation – fastening insulation to the substrate, precise edge formation and the attachment of external elements of varying weights and functionality.
All these products are designed to accommodate many different types and thicknesses of insulation and renders offered by system providers, and they ensure the EWI system build-up can be done with maximum efficiency. Backed by credible product approvals, the end result for system providers is a suite of products which helps them to reliably meet today’s more stringent thermal requirements and offers long term assurance to their clients.
EWI washer / anchor combinations
The ejotherm® washer and anchor combination is designed to be amongst the best performing insulation fixing concepts available. Its design enables the perfect connection for all construction substrates and insulating materials, representing a technical innovation that functions precisely to match its requirements.
Regardless of the insulation type, ejotherm® washer and anchor combinations are highly resistant with minimum installation depth and they are simple, quick and safe to use. Given their performance characteristics, with EJOT it may be possible to use fewer anchors in the façade creation versus other anchors. And performance in assured by the fact that ejotherm® washer and anchor combinations are ETA-approved.
One EJOT innovation that is particularly effective at delivering superior thermal performance and aesthetics is the STR. Now in its second generation in the form of the ejotherm® STR U 2G, this innovative anchoring solution is designed to reduce nuisance anchor marks forming on the rendered finish. It does this by enabling the countersinking of installation in a way that allows the anchor to be covered with a cap formed of the same type of insulation.
In addition to anchors based on the STR principle, EJOT offers EWI anchors for brick slip systems and façade rails.
ETICS profiles and beads
EJOT provides a portfolio of profiles for use at the base, corners, edges and around the windows and doors of EWI systems which can be deployed to achieve a number of advantages.
The EJOT Pro-Line profiles are designed to enable precise edge formation and permanently drive rain away from the building. They offer a PVC solution that is as rigid as aluminium, but with improved durability and significantly reduced thermal bridging.
Every Pro-Line product is the result of extensive R&D programmes undertaken by the EJOT Group’s ETICS specialists in Germany. They all incorporate innovative features to minimise weight in the overall system, while at the same time ensuring the system is structurally robust and aesthetically clean.
The Pro-line range includes:
• EJOT Pro GEW, a corner bead which can be incorporated into the system extremely effectively thanks to its perforated profile design, along with several reveal bead options.
• EJOT Pro APP reveal bead, which has the benefit of transfer tape for attaching the cover film.
• EJOT Pro GAP Giga Flex and GAP Giga Flex Slim, which feature integrated mesh with the ability to absorb a high level of movement.
Also in the range is a corner profile with a drip edge, EJOT Pro TKP, which is supplied with plug-in connectors and incorporates a glass fibre mesh to create an exact and stable plaster finish with targeted water flow for a variety of applications.
Finally, the EJOT Pro-Line range also includes a universally applicable clip-on plastic profile, EJOT Pro ASP, which features a glass fibre mesh for attaching to base rails, and products to provide a render stop and interface with roller shutters. The EJOT Pro PAP bead can be used to form an exact transition between different types of render layers, as well as finishing in areas such as the underside of balconies, whilst the EJOT Pro-RAP is designed to accommodate movement where the render connection meets roller shutter rails.
ETICS mounting solutions
Another category within EJOT’s holistic package for ETICS is a portfolio of products designed to all the mounting of attachments and external elements once the façade is completed.
EJOT mounting elements provide the necessary strength to mount light to heavy parts on the building structure that is carrying the thermal insulation without compromising its integrity or performance. The range provides fastening elements for retrofitting as well as for the planned integration into new ETICS in ways that do not cause thermal bridging or damaging the top layer.
Amongst the applications suitable for EJOT mounting elements are balcony railing, pipe brackets, Juliet balconies (or French balconies), house numbers, downpipe brackets, canopies, wall lights, air conditioning units and heat source pump units.
