If you require non-invasive counterweights to secure, scaffolding, hoarding and marquees, for facade retention or to act as ballast for larger structures, such as cranes and wind-turbines, our ballast and concrete kentledge blocks are the answer.
We have a wide range of sizes to suit all projects and the blocks are also available for hire if securing a temporary structure.
Kentledge Block Range
Our standard range of concrete ballast blocks are available in the following weights:
- 500kg
- 850kg
- 1000kg
- 2400kg
- 5760kg
Within the block range, the 850kg & 1000kg blocks also come with precast holes through the units. This enables multiple blocks to be linked together using scaffolding poles and create heavier ballast, which can be beneficial if site access is restricted and larger individual ballast blocks cannot be used.
For situations where the block size or weight does not meet your exact requirements, we can also manufacture bespoke kentledge blocks.
The precast concrete block range can be customised to suit your preferred lifting & fixing method including, cast-in holes, additional lifting points, eye-bolts, and Halfen channels.
If you are not sure what size ballast block would best suit your project, speak to our product experts, who will be able to advise on the most suitable product.
Kentledge Blocks Hire
For short term access control or site protection, we also offer a flexible, nationwide, kentledge block hireservice, giving you the option to buy or hire.
Ballast Block Installation
Ballast blocks are installed using the pin anchors on the top of the blocks which are cast-in during manufacture. In addition to this, the 500kg marquee weights also have a recess in the bottom of the block, to enable maneuvering on site using a pallet truck.
Our transport team can also provide an off-load and placement service for the ballast blocks, reducing the need for hiring additional plant on site to install the precast blocks.
We can provide turn-key solutions for site hoarding, including structural calculations for wind loadings, layout and construction drawings, and full installation service, please speak to the contracts team for more information.
