Sesame System is a set of pedestrian stairs that can be clad in any material to match the surrounding environment. When in use, the stairs retract to reveal a wheelchair platform stair lift.
The System gives the wheelchair user an independent wheelchair lift solution to the short rise steps that can inhibit disabled access into or within a building. It is ideal for disabled access into listed buildings and buildings of architectural merit; and also fits in perfectly where space may be limited as, when the lift is not in use, the full width of the staircase is available for pedestrian passage.
The Sesame System platform lift is also another option, and ideal for a location that has a large landing, only a small amount of which is taken up by stairs. The System can involve turning a balustrade into a disguised gate, also clad to fit the environment, meaning the lift is, once again, almost invisible when not in use.
Both the Sesame System stairlift and platform lift can be fitted internally or externally in the building. The system blends completely into its surroundings with the cladding, which can range anywhere between glass and marble inclusive. Consequently, it is not obvious like the standard stairlifts associated with disability access and this benefit coupled with the independence the Sesame System provides, is extremely popular with the users.
Bespoke platform lifts for internal or external medium rise stairs, even listed buildings grade I, II* and II. Our stair lifts are clad in any material. Award winning stairlift systems come highly recommended. Your stairs can hide a platform lift.
