Wienerberger, the leading provider of wall, roof and landscaping innovations, has announced an exciting partnership, which will see it exhibiting on the BRE stand at this year’s Ecobuild at the Excel Centre in London
Following the announcement that Wienerberger will be building an e4 brick house™ at BRE’s prestigious Innovation Park, Ecobuild will be the first opportunity for people to preview the new house before its planned launch in April. Furthermore, the BRE will be launching its New Homes Standard at the show, with the e4 brick house™ being the first example of a home built to the new standard, which will then be tested and evaluated by BRE
The Wienerberger e4 brick house™ utilises a fabric first approach using a clay building envelope
This minimises the energy needs of the home and the related costs, a significant benefit for homeowners with the average energy bill exceeding £1300 per annum
The house being built at the BRE Innovation Park is the three bedroom detached design although the concept can be used for a wide range of sizes and typologies
Richard Brown, Category Marketing Manager at Wienerberger and project lead for e4, commented:
We are very much looking forward to presenting the e4 brick house at Ecobuild. This will be people’s first opportunity to preview the new home and learn how it is built according to the new standard being launched by BRE. The e4 brick house™ represents a big step in terms of sustainable building, and we are looking forward to promoting the principles of e4, as well as building sustainably with clay.
BRE Business Development Director Miles Watkins commented:
Launching our New Homes Standard at Ecobuild this year is a huge opportunity for us to promote all aspects of sustainable building. We are therefore really pleased to be able to preview the new Wienerberger e4 brick house™ on our stand and look forward to welcoming visitors to find out more.
