When it came to the hard landscape design for the Thorngrove Park development, Westpoint Homes’ had no hesitation in specifying Tobermore paving and walling products.
The beautiful Thorngrove Park, comprising 25 beautiful homes and set within the conservation area of Bearsden in Glasgow, was developed by Westpoint Homes, one of Scotland’s most highly regarded, private home builders.
Young and Gault Architects devised the specification of the properties at Thorngrove Park, which have been designed with style and imagination, and carefully crafted with the finest materials.
Following the success of previous projects, such as Barronsfield Grange in Newton Mearns where Tobermore’s Scottish team worked closely with Westpoint Homes, the builder’s decision to specify Tobermore paving and walling products was very easy.
Evan McKinnon, Commercial Manager at Westpoint Homes, said: “We had no hesitation in specifying Tobermore products once more, due to the undeniable product quality, stunning aesthetic appeal and superior performance over time.”
The entire hard landscape at Thorngrove Park was created with Tobermore products – from the aged, antique finishes of Tegula and Retro block paving in the soft, blended tones of Bracken and Riven Flags in subtle Charcoal, to the more modern, smooth finishes of Shannon block paving, also in Bracken.
With the increased risks of flooding in the UK in recent years, Westpoint Homes felt it was vital that a SUD’s solution be employed to help prevent potential problems. Tobermore’s Hydropave Tegula and Hydropave Shannon permeable paving was the key to providing an infiltration method for rainwater run-off.
The beauty of Tobermore’s Hydropave permeable paving products is the fact that style is not compromised to achieve these practical benefits. Each Hydropave product is manufactured with all the aesthetics of the standard product equivalent.
The properties at Thorngrove Park range from affordable homes for shared equity through to large period-themed detached homes and luxury villa apartments, offering a rare, authentic blend of traditional style with modern influences. The collaboration of the Tobermore products specified complements the development beautifully.
Evan McKinnon commented: “The whole development has come together really well. We spent a great deal of time and effort on our specification and feel that, on this development, it was certainly paid off.
It was a pleasure working with Tobermore and with Alan McNeilage of the Scottish team. We would happily recommend Tobermore’s stunning paving and walling products to any commercial or domestic client.”
Evan has also expressed his delight at the finished result. “Thorngrove Park has been a fantastic development to be involved in. It’s a project that Westpoint Homes are extremely proud of.”
