Potato Wharf is an eco-conscious development in Castlefield, Manchester, from Crosby Lend Lease. Consisting of a variety of chic apartments across two eight-storey blocks around a landscaped courtyard overlooking the Castlefield waterways, Potato Wharf is positioned close to the hustle and bustle of nightlife nearby, offering a fashionable abode to soak up the best of city life.
Both MBLA and Aedas designed the quirky apartment buildings at Potato Wharf and Landscape Projects created the fabulous landscape design. A large selection of Tobermore’s permeable block paving products were specified for the landscape, in keeping with the eco-friendly agenda for the project.
Installed by ACS Construction, Tobermore’s Hydropave Tegula permeable paving in the unique, blended colours of Bracken, Heather and Cedar are featured on the grounds. Like all the Tobermore permeable range, Hydropave Tegula is a prevention solution for flooding and pollution issues. As well as promising landscape longevity, Tobermore’s Hydropave range provides all the aesthetic benefits of the standard product range, so style is never compromised.
Additionally, Tobermore’s Tactile Flags in a Blister finish in Buff are featured at Potato Wharf. Tactile Flags are a sensory paving solution, ensuring safety for those who are visually impaired. Likewise, Mayfair Step Flags in sparkling Silver with a black delineation strip have been installed as a safety aid for those who are partially sighted.
