Tirana - the European Youth Capital of 2022

5 Jan 2022
News

Tirana is European Youth Capital 2022. The capital city of Albania is the 14th city to win the award and a year-long series of events will place the youth of Tirana at the centre of the country’s drive towards sustainable development.

Last September we spoke to Tirana’s Deputy Mayor Anuela Ristani on the major transformations of the last few years and the policies of urban change aimed at increasing green and pedestrian areas, improving air quality, enabling usage of alternative means of transportation, and making the city a more child-friendly space. We were joined by Alastair King-Smith, the British Ambassador to Albania.
