Lomax + Wood are UK specialists in the supply and installation of high-performance timber windows and doors, which replicate period sightlines while providing security, thermal and acoustic performance. Lomax + Wood were selected to install premium products for a top-end London project in a conservation area.

The architects sought to redefine a historic London townhouse by maintaining the period exterior and incorporating the finest internal details while producing an exciting contemporary interior. With properties in New York and Dubai, the new owner naturally wanted to enjoy a fine example of a London period property whilst also ensuring it delivered a modern specification.

Lomax + Wood traditional timber box cord and weighted sash windows were supplied on this project with slim glazing units, and external timber doors. All products are manufactured from engineered knot-free timber for strength, stability and durability. The factory finished paint system is spray applied with micro-porous, which allows the wood to breathe. The timber windows and doors are supplied fully weather-stripped, factory finished, and all ironmongery including espagnolette locking to the doors. All timber windows and doors are available with double or triple glazed windows internally for security, and all are tested independently to achieve Part Q and PAS 24:2016.

Lomax + Wood are committed to sourcing from sustainable sources to this end we have worked hard to achieve FSC® Chain of Custody which is deemed by many to be an environmental gold standard. This work was undertaken in partnership with BM TRADA who are also considered to be a mark of quality in our industry. FSC® Chain of Custody is not the same as a timber window and door supplier providing FSC® documents for the timber alone. The Lomax + Wood FSC® Chain of Custody ensures the product is FSC® from source of the timber through to installation, if Lomax + Wood site fitting is specified, which is within the scope of our certification.

The wooden windows and doors were surveyed, designed and installed by Lomax + Wood to provide the customer with one point of contact. Lomax + Wood offer a wide range of installation packages that vary to accommodate any project’s varying requirements; in this case, the Silver package was selected, suitable for a refurbishment project where a builder is on site.
