Thru-Wall has been recognised for the entirely new offsite, modular, cladding and roofing construction solution that it provides to the construction industry, which incorporates a Structural Insulated Panel (SIPS) pre-clad with industry standard external facades, as well as being the only product of its type to include a 20-year latent defect insurance cover.
The Orange Innovation Award recognises businesses that have gone beyond the ordinary in their development and implemented cutting edge innovation in terms of products, services or company culture. The nomination is all the more remarkable as the Thru-Wall product was only created earlier this year thanks to a unique collaboration between building envelope specialists Lakesmere and its supply chain partner Hemsec Installations.
Representatives from Thru-Wall will now make its presentation before an independent, expert judging panel before the winners are announced at a gala dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel in November.
Mo Morgan, Thru-Wall’s Marketing and Communications Manager, said: “The development of Thru-Wall, between Lakesmere and its supply chain partners Hemsec Installations, is one of our greatest achievements to date. We are delighted that Thru-Wall has been recognised by such a leading brand as Orange; winning this award would be an important boost for both Thru-Wall itself and the team that has worked so hard to bring this innovative concept to life. We are proud to fly the flag as pioneers of innovation within the construction industry and this prestigious accolade for Thru-Wall is testament to our successful collaborative approach."
In total, over 152 of Britain’s top public and private sector businesses have been announced as finalists across all categories in the National Business Awards, in partnership with Orange.
Announcing the Orange Innovation finalists, Martin Stiven, Vice President of Business at Orange, part of Everything Everywhere, said: “Orange believes that innovation is central to all business growth and we support businesses to achieve this goal. If the UK is to regain its role as a world leader of innovation, we firmly believe that British companies must embrace a new way of thinking and invest time and resource into doing this. This year’s finalists demonstrate exceptional innovation and are a testament to pioneering UK business.”
The nomination follows hot on the heels of Thru-Wall winning the Product Innovation award at the Construction News Awards in July.
