Family run business The Rug House in Newry, Northern Ireland, has made full use of SMARTPLY SITEPROTECT boards - storing 60,000 rugs safely in its new premises. The on-line store has utilised 2,000 sheets of the cost effective, pre-finished OSB panels across three floors to meet its growing warehousing needs. Ideal for use in a wide range of applications, from temporary hoarding through to a variety of security installations, the versatile SMARTPLY SITEPROTECT is designed to save both time and money. It is a moisture resistant OSB3, which is specially coated, providing a hoarding panel that delivers high performance, durability and protection. The SMARTPLY SITEPROTECT is coated with a heavy duty, cross-linked polymer surface treatment, which provides a smooth finish that eliminates the need for priming. Instead the surface can be painted directly. Both SMARTPLY SITRPROTECT and SMARTPLY OSB3 panels have been used in the warehousing at The Rug Store’s premises. “We needed a panel product that was suitable both in a smooth finish and also a plain sanded 18mm version. The smoothness of finish was of vital importance because rugs of all sizes are being stored on top and we don't want any damage to occur whilst stacking or pulling out the products with the fear of plucking, pulls and rips,” explains Paul Valley, Business Manager of The Rug House. “The structural nature and enduring strength of SMARTPLY OSB and SITEPROTECT made these panels suitable for the demanding strength and loading requirements of the job.
