Situated within the Metropolitan Hotel in Park Lane, the Met Bar first opened in 1997 and since then has been a favoured venue for the rich and famous.
Following a recent £750,000 refurbishment designed by interior design and architectural consultants Forme UK, the Met Bar has re-opened with a dramatic new look featuring a sleek black lava-stone bar top with a leather clad front, rich timber floors and a feature glass wall.
To continue this exotic and elegant theme, Forme’s design consultant Linzi Coppick specified Glasen for the Met Bar’s table tops. Linzi said: “I was searching for a product, which as well as being practical for the purpose had a luxurious reflective quality that complimented the surrounding finishes. Glasen fits the bill perfectly.’ Glasen interior film developed by LG Hausys and exclusively distributed in the UK by David Clouting Ltd is produced utilising high pearl printing technology to create a striking 3D effect film, which when laminated onto the back of a glass sheet, provides the ultimate high gloss finish - both in looks and surface performance.
Glasen in a dark gold coconut design was specified for the Met Bar project and laminated on to the back of table top specification glass by leading glass fabricator WGL.
David Clouting’s Commercial Sales Manager Andrew Buffrey said “We have an exciting range of Glasen films for clients to choose from, for the table tops in the Met Bar the dark gold coconut design was perfect and complemented the design theme beautifully.
We are delighted to have been involved in such a high profile project; Glasen is becoming increasingly in demand as designers are looking for new ways in which to create exciting and innovative features” concludes Andrew.
Glasen interior film can be used for domestic and commercial interior applications including: Splash backs, Kitchen and Bedroom doors, Flooring, Wall Panels, Work surfaces, Table tops, Headboards, , Hotel and Office reception areas, Bars and Restaurants.
