Swisspacer’s fast growth continues

4 Aug 2010
News
Swisspacer’s dramatic sales growth has continued. In the UK and Ireland, the leading warm edge supplier has sold nearly as much spacer bar in the first six months as it sold in the whole of 2009. The UK and Ireland is now Swisspacer’s second largest market, accounting for more than 20% of its rapidly growing global sales compared to just 4% at the end of 2008.

Kathryn Dalgleish, Swisspacer’s Marketing and Sales Manager for the UK and Ireland, says there are many reasons why Swisspacer continues to grow.

“Swisspacer offers sealed unit manufacturers and window fabricators excellent thermal performance,” she comments. “Swisspacer is a tried and tested warm edge solution. Companies know that we will help them achieve the requirements for the highest Window Energy Ratings and ensure they meet the new building regulations with ease. Swisspacer performs well in EN1279 testing which is reassuring when the industry is up against the clock to meet the October deadline. In addition, sealed unit manufacturers can apply the EN1279 substitution rules, something which is not permitted with foam spacer bars, for example, saving time, money and worry.”

Unlike some other warm edge spacer bars, with Swisspacer there is no need to invest heavily in specialised machinery. Sealed unit manufacturers can use their existing machinery and simply buy a box of spacer bar, a box of keys and read the technical recommendations to produce top performing sealed units. Kathryn adds: “With companies such as Cornwall Glass and Glazing producing as many as 742 sealed units in a single shift it proves that automation is not a prerequisite for good productivity. This is a key advantage when times are tough and capital investment is difficult to justify. But, automated production is available, if companies want further productivity improvements, with benders from Lisec and Saint-Gobain Seva and automated welding from Rottler and Ruediger.”

Swisspacer is available from 17 distribution locations across the UK and Ireland from Swisspacer’s partners DGS/Solutions UK, Magden and National Seal, and it is available in a range of colours.
