Sir Kier Starmer, patron of the Bloomsbury Festival and MP for Holborn and St Pancras, joined us online to open Claire-Anne Abi Ola's NEW WAVE: Love at a Distance exhibition now on at the Building Centre, as he presented Abi with the 2020 Bloomsbury Art Prize:

"It is my pleasure to announce the winner of the Bloomsbury Art Prize for 2020 - and it goes to Claire-Anne Abi Ola who has drawn on her heritage and background in West Africa, and of course here, with fantastic images and portraits celebrating family. Well done Abi, great winner."

Hear more from Sir Kier, the Building Centre's CEO Colin Tweedy, artist Claire-Anne Abi Ola, and her Slade tutor Madelynn Green, in the video below:

You can visit us at the Building Centre to see NEW WAVE: Love at a Distance now until 13 November. Free of charge, open Mon-Fri 9am-6pm.
