Siderise Special Products— a leading manufacturer of fire, acoustic and thermal solutions for the construction, rail and marine sectors— has been awarded a Silver Medal by EcoVadis. The globally recognised, independent business sustainability assessment platform gave the company an overall score of 68/100, putting them in the top 9% of the 100,000+ companies across 175+ countries that have undergone the process.
EcoVadis is one of the world’s leading platforms for assessing and certifying the sustainability credentials of companies operating in all kinds of sectors. It assesses sustainability in four key areas:
- environmental impact
- labour and human rights
- ethics
- procurement practices
This is done through a rigorous self-assessment process, which involves answering hundreds of questions and supplying evidence alongside answers to ensure complete integrity. These responses are then independently assessed and scored by EcoVadis’ sustainability experts, with a final overall score given from zero to 100 which is then used to create credible industry rankings.
Siderise Special Products received an overall score of 68 out of 100, with notably strong performance on environmental, labour and human rights, and ethics areas. This high score places the business in the 91st percentile, and meant it could be awarded a Silver Medal for achieving strong scores in each of the four key areas and being in the top 9% of assessed companies in 2023.
Speaking on the achievement, Sera Turkoglu, ESG Manager for Siderise Group commented:
“Sustainability has become a key decision factor for customers and consumers in almost every sector. However, it is vital that businesses can provide credible proof of their actions. Going through the process of the EcoVadis assessment is not only something we have done to ensure good practice and genuine results that we can share with the industries we work in but has also been key in helping us to identify areas we can improve on in the future.”
Managing Director of Siderise Special Products, Hugh Langley added:
“This is a great achievement for our team. Acting with integrity and always looking to go beyond the minimum is at the core of our business strategy and operations. However, having this work formally recognised with the EcoVadis rating is a significant milestone in our ESG journey, and has been especially important for our client partners in rail, construction and marine who are actively seeking to ensure a more sustainable supply chain.”
