Throughout 2017, Senior Architectural Systems has further developed its innovative range of aluminium windows, doors and curtain walling to offer specifiers a ‘one stop shop’ solution for all their fenestration needs.
Senior’s patented PURe® aluminium windows and doors have become a firm favourite with main contractors, architects and trade installers alike thanks to their ability to offer exceptional low U-values, slim sightlines and ease of fabrication. This year, Senior has further developed the thermally-efficient PURe® range to include a new reversible, overswing window which has been designed to reduce maintenance costs by enabling the window to be cleaned from the inside. A new triple-track option for Senior’s attractive PURe® SLIDE aluminium doors, which enables all three door panels to slide, has also been well received by designers who wish to maximise the sense of light and space to achieve wider views, larger openings and beautiful full length sliding glass walls.
Further design flexibility has been added with the launch of a mullion-drained version of the company’s popular SF52 curtain wall system which is ideal for the creation of sleek and uniform facades. Offering invisible drainage, Senior’s SF52 mullion drained system has a specially designed drainage method which enables the system to drain through the vertical pressure plate with no drainage required on transoms.
Senior’s latest product innovations have not only helped to further strengthen its established range of aluminium fenestration solutions but have also had a direct impact on the company’s order book. With an already impressive portfolio of projects in the education sector, Senior has seen a significant increase in the specification of its SF52 aluminium curtain walling system for use on several University Technical Colleges (UTC) projects across the UK. The combined thermal and acoustic performance of Senior's innovative PURe® windows, which can achieve U-values as low as low as 0.71W/m2 K when calculated as a commercial CEN standard window, has also led to a number of contract wins across both the student accommodation and private rental sectors.
By offering specifiers the full range of glazing solutions, all benefiting from the high performance characteristic of aluminium and supported by industry leading in-house technical and design expertise, Senior is looking ahead to another busy year.
