10 Nairn Road is a new development of two contemporary homes in Canford Cliffs, Poole in Dorset.
The client, Serene Projects and the Architect wanted a waterproofing system for the roofs which was robust and also aesthetically pleasing as the lower flat roofs would be overlooked from the terraces.
Eclipse Roofing and Waterproofing, one of SOPREMA’s Approved Contractors, put forward a bituminous specification to meet these key requirements which included a SOPREMA warm and cold roof system, both of which included SOPREMA Sopralene Optima C3 GMF and offered a 30 year single point warranty.
Serene Projects awarded the job to Eclipse Roofing and Waterproofing who took great pride in ensuring that SOPREMA warm roof waterproofing system on the 650m2 roof was installed to a high standard and that every bituminous bead was neat and continuous.
Shane Young, owner of Eclipse Roofing and Waterproofing commented “We also worked closely with a fabrication company ensuring the new balustrades for the terraces were totally waterproofed once installed. Part of this was achieved by installing SOPREMA’s ALSAN PMMA liquid waterproofing around the fixings points and intricate details”.
The Optima Warm Roof waterproofing system included:
- Primer: Sopradere Quick
- Vapour Barrier: Sopravap Alu Activia 2
- Insulation: 120mm Sopratherm T Insulation
- Vented Underlayer: Ventirock SBS 3 TF
- Cap sheet: Sopralene Optima C3 GMF
Serene Projects were extremely happy with the finish of the waterproofing and both of these houses are now on the market for over two million pounds. The project was also a finalist at the 2019 NFRC UK Roofing Awards for best ‘Reinforced Bitumen Membranes’.
