UK vending machinespecialists VendEaseLtd have secured business with Barr Construction to help solve the costly problem of providing personal protection equipment (PPE) to sub contractors.
Now workers who turn up to the job without the proper safety clothing will be able to have immediate access to everything they need thanks to a dedicated vending machine positioned on-site.
Scotland-based Barr Construction operates up to ten large scale building projects at a time and the majority of the workforce are sub contractors that are outside corporate control.
In order to ensure projects were not delayed, Barr provided core safety gear such as footwear, gloves, hard hats, eye and ear protection and high visibility vests to workers who did not have PPE of their own.
The practice was unwieldy, difficult to control and costly. Installing a vending machine that workers can access with cash or a credit card was the simple solution.

Clever technology enables Barr to monitor daily sales data allowing staff to quickly respond when more stock is required or when cash in the machine should be removed, for example.
