North East Fireplace Specialist Increases Its Range Of ‘bio-fires’ and ‘fire furniture’

A County Durham fireplace manufacturer is extending its range of eco-friendly ‘bio-fires’ due to an increased demand.

Spirit Fires, part of the CVO Fire group in Newton Aycliffe, specialises in the production of bio-fires- more commonly known as gel fires. As pioneers in the field, Spirit has been manufacturing these eco-friendly fires since 2003, long before many other companies.

Gel fires burn cleanly using renewable gel or denatured ethanol making them environmentally-friendly and suitable for buildings without a flue or for use outdoors.

Demand for these fires has increased as customers look for designer fires which are easy to install, are manufactured by a leading industry name with an outstanding safety record and are environmentally-friendly.

Spirit’s gel fires all undergo extensive testing by experts at the company and come in a variety of designs such as wall-mounted, hole-in-the-wall and fire bowls. In addition, Spirit has developed a range of portable gel fires which can be used as ‘fire furniture’ outside or in conservatories.

Spirit and CVO Fire’s ranges have become increasingly popular with both commercial and domestic customers throughout the UK and Europe thanks to their unusual designs and customer service.

The company, which produces everything on site in Newton Aycliffe, has worked with a leading Hollywood director as well as British celebrities and footballers and major brands such as Hilton and Marriott, Greene King, Carlton and Sheraton.

Managing director, Andrew Munro, said: “Spirit’s gel fires are very popular at the moment because we have a longstanding reputation in the production of bio-fires. Also, we manufacture a wide range of fires, made to order.

“Gel fires have excellent eco credentials and are easy to install and require no utility connection for the fuel supply. They’re currently very popular with people living in apartments and also with bar, restaurant and office owners as they don’t require a flue and can be fitted quickly yet look stunning.”
