Over four billion YouTube videos are viewed every day, making it the second most visited site in the world. As a hugely popular educational tool for contractors, installers and customers alike, Wavin has added nine new instructional videos to its YouTube channel to demonstrate how OSMA rainwater systems can provide low maintenance, high performance solutions for guttering and downpipe projects.
Last year, Wavin launched 11 videos promoting the company’s soil and waste range and now following huge demand has added a rainwater series to its YouTube channel. Offering step-by-step advice for installers and homeowners alike, the new videos cover everything from installation guidance to how to fix and clean specific elements of the product range.
The ‘Installing a plastic guttering system’ video shows how to safely remove the existing system before achieving the correct fall, spacing brackets, allowing for expansion and ensuring a secure fixing. As plastic pipes expand and contract, it’s important to compensate for that. Another video highlights the importance of correct installation to allow for gutter and downpipe expansion.
Two additional videos have been uploaded to provide guidance on how to protect the system in the long term. The first one demonstrates how to install leaf guards to prevent inconvenient blockages and damage, whilst another video shows how to add a rainwater diverter kit in order to channel rainwater from the downpipe into the water butt.
Maintenance of guttering and downpipes is crucial to the system’s long term performance and preventing water damage to the property. To ensure homeowners can benefit from consistent high performance, three videos have been added to show how to fix a leaking gutter joint, clean offset bends and clean a downpipe via an access fitting.
And lastly, a video that introduces the viewer to StormLine – a higher capacity domestic system with a classic ogee shape or when you want clean attractive lines around the roof perimeter or conservatory. The high front edge of the gutter ensures the safe capture of high volumes of roof run-off under storm conditions.
An industry benchmark for excellence and innovation, the OSMA range offers integrated solutions to give specifiers and installers complete confidence in its compatibility and performance capabilities. As the leading brand in plastic drainage and rainwater systems, the new instructional videos will further strengthen OSMA’s position as industry pioneers in product development, system compatibility and technical support.
