Listone Giordano are known as innovators in the realm of interior hardwood engineered flooring. They have now turned their attention to exterior spaces, and have embarked on creating new kinds of outdoor decking that enliven projects with the warmth of wood.
Listone Giordano Marine introduces a new kind of flooring design: the same multi-layered cross-fibre birch support as Listone Giordano’s other flooring products, topped with ancient natural Teak hardwood. Each board is enhanced with longitudinal grooves that not only provide stability to the wood floor itself, but ensure excellent anti-slip performance, specifically design for wet and outdoor areas.
Wooden floors are often enjoyed the most in outdoor areas – surrounding swimming pools, or even as part of a modern bathroom, shower, or wet-room. Listone’s Marine flooring has been cleverly engineered to create an aesthetic bridge from outside to in: why break up the continuity of wood from outside to inside?
One of the major triumphs of Marine is that it is the first wooden flooring ever to pass the Japanese Agricultural Standard (JAS) test, widely considered to be the most demanding procedure to test the bonding quality of adhesives. Listone’s Marine boards were put through rigorous testing, including being submerged in 70°c water for 2 hours, followed by blasting with 60°c air for a further 3 hours. The very manufacturing process of Marine means it can flourish in wet or humid areas – a low maintenance, yet incredibly hardwearing product, with a timeless aesthetic.
It is this aesthetic of Teak, with an intoxicating, pleasant golden-brown glow, that makes Marine truly stand out as a functional and decorative flooring solution. Its natural oils also help to protect the wood from water, too – and natural protectants can also be specified for Marine for a final flourish.
