A fully interactive 3-D printed model of central London is replacing the original London model that has been the focus of the NLA galleries since 2005.
The New London Model, built by Pipers to a scale of 1:2000, will cover more of London to include Opportunity Areas such as Earls Court, White City and Old Oak Common. An interactive digital display system will tell the story of London’s historical and physical development from the Romans to Boris Johnson.
Key projects, including recently completed as well as proposed schemes with planning permission, will be highlighted. A sophisticated projection system integrated with film and touch-screens will make the model a must-see for all Londoners and visitors to the capital.
London Model closed for refurbishment until 23 April
Please note the London Model will be closed to the public while the New London Model is being installed - from Thurs 26 March until 23 April.
The Building Centre will be closed on the following Saturdays due to a gallery update - Saturdays, 28 March, 4 April, 11 April and 18 April.
