Following the purchase of this grand private residence in the Cambridge countryside, the new homeowners saw the potential it had straight away and wasted no time in undertaking a complete remodel and renovation of their new home.
As part of the works, a large extension was added to the rear of the property, including a new kitchen, dining space and living areas that have dramatically improved the natural light flowing into the property, as well as greatly increase the square footage and overall value of the home.
Alongside the extensive works to the main structure, a new outbuilding has also been built and contains within it a games room and recreational space for the homeowners to enjoy and entertain.
“The homeowners brought us on board to help plan, manage and undertake the extensive works they specified. In total, this project has taken us around 18 months and I think we can all agree the end result is fantastic” comments William of RM Construction in Cambridge, the main contractors for the project.
“We have worked with Mumford & Wood a few times in the past and they are often specified by architects that we work with for other projects” William explains.
Across the new extension at the rear of the property and for the new outbuilding, a selection of Mumford & Wood French doors, flush casement windows and sash windows were specified. The new products are all in a similar style and colour finish to the originals in place at the front of the property.
“The new windows and doors arrive on site fully finished and ready for installation which saves a lot of time and we have always been impressed with this”.
