Installers to experience LPG efficiency at Ecobuild

17 Feb 2012
News
The hype to ‘go green’ is understandably confusing for many conventional heating installers, and often conveniently conceals that fact that, for now at least, integrating fossil fuels with renewable technologies is the way forward.

It is a fact that significant carbon reductions and greater energy efficiency can be achieved by replacing an old oil heating system with new condensing LPG boilers – proven to be the cleanest fossil fuel in off-mains gas areas*.

This is the message that Calor is taking to this year’s Ecobuild exhibition – where the company is keen to engage with installers working in off-mains gas areas. It’s here that the business potential to convert old, inefficient oil heating systems in domestic and commercial properties to LPG is immense.

A recent study by NIFES, which compared Calor LPG with oil, showed that by replacing an old oil heating system with LPG, a commercial building’s CO2 emissions can be cut by over 22%**.

Even more significantly, if you couple LPG with combined heat and power (CHP) technology that not only provides heat but also produces electricity, overall carbon emissions can decrease further, whilst energy usage is even more efficient.

Businesses and home owners faced with rising fuel bills and a need for greater use of energy will undoubtedly see this as something worth exploring, and will look to their installers to provide the ‘know how’.

“We look forward to welcoming installers on to the Calor stand at Ecobuild, and providing them with the information and support they need to better serve their customers,” said Paul Riding, Calor’s Head of Innovation.

“Our experts will be available to discuss LPG’s proven potential for cutting carbon emissions, and we can demonstrate to installers the cutting-edge technologies that, when used in conjunction with LPG, make significant energy savings possible.”

Installers can also find out about Calor’s generous incentive scheme – which offers a whole range of benefits for all LPG installers.

Ecobuild
– the world’s largest exhibition for sustainability and the built environment – takes place at London’s ExCel from March 20 to 22.  Calor can be found on stand N2610 – just off the central atrium.
