Hull-based bathroom manufacturer, Ideal Standard, has created a commemorative tiger striped toilet seat featuring an image of Hull City manager Steve Bruce, in tribute to him leading the team to the FA Cup final for first time in club's history.
Hull face Arsenal in the final at Wembley this weekend (Saturday 17 May) and the limited edition Tigers loo seat is emblazoned with Hull’s famous amber and black stripes – the home kit club colours which earned them the nickname ‘The Tigers’.
Ideal Standard employs around 300 people in Hull and has been manufacturing in the city since 1936. Originally founded as the National Radiator Company, Ideal Standard is the UK's leading bathroom manufacturer and a market-leading provider of innovative design-driven bathroom solutions and products.
Keith Boad, managing director, Ideal Standard UK, said: “We are very proud of our hometown football team, Hull City AFC and wanted to do something to mark their achievement and let them know everyone at Ideal Standard will be supporting them in the final.
“This is certainly something a little bit fun and a little bit different, but because of our heritage and our innovative designers, we understand bathrooms better than anyone else and know that people want personalised solutions for their bathrooms at home.
“Let’s just hope this WC seat lid isn’t the only thing Steve Bruce will be lifting up this weekend – and we are certainly hoping that Hull win, rather than loos!”
