The project architects are PRP and the development was undertaken by Taylor Wimpey, for charitable housing association, L&Q. Stainless steel units, supplied and installed by GEC Anderson, were specified within the Community Centre for the main kitchen, the nursery kitchen and in the dedicated baby change room.
Working closely with the architect, developer, client and end user representatives, GEC Anderson provided units from across their comprehensive range of stainless steel products. Stainless steel worktops, cabinets, shelving and sanitaryware were supplied and installed by GEC Anderson, strictly in accordance with exacting requirements and in the permitted timescale. Mo Fisher of PRP Architects: “GEC Anderson were willing and able to engage with us in a positive, friendly, way to achieve the required design objectives. Key benefits of their service included good communication with quick turn-around of drawings and supply of related information.”
GEC Anderson Managing Director, Martin Tye, comments: “This was an interesting, challenging and highly prestigious project for GEC Anderson and we have received only positive comments and feedback from the architects and from our customer, Taylor Wimpey. We take great pride in providing solutions for our customers and, in this instance I think the finished installations really show-off our quality, finish and design, that can be hard to express in words or descriptions.
According to Terry Brown, Associate Major Projects Director for Taylor Wimpey, “It is not often that we would directly deploy stainless steel units in this way but they are very impressive and have created much interest.”
