Home can be one of the most important places to a person. The subject is always on the agenda when it comes to the built environment. TV shows and trade shows tell us how to improve our living conditions, showcasing the latest technologies out there. This year The Building Centre wanted to explore the innovations that one popular show had to offer, Grand Designs live.
To start with there are so many elements to a home; Grand Designs live managed to capture these elements all in one place, the Excel Centre. Occupants gathered together at the London venue to find sections about build, kitchens, bathrooms, gardens, interiors and technologies. With live demonstrations and presentations from the likes of Kevin McCloud, George Clarke and Jo Hamilton, the event was not short of expert advice, covering matters such as designing but also financing.
All things house related were displayed including, staircases, lighting, doors, walls and floors. However the event did not only bring together the latest products and services for a home but it also brought together people. Visitors were able to share a common interest, communicating and debating a very significant issue of how we improve our environment.
Grand Designs Live is on display from Saturday 2 – Sunday 10 May 2015
