With a diary packed full of activities and events, Kirkham Town Council’s Community Centre required a range of folding chairs that would provide comfort, versatility and ease of use on a daily basis.
“The community centre is used every day, hosting a variety of functions and events from tea dances to Weight Watchers meetings,” said Marjorie Barnes, Town Clerk for Kirkham Council. “With the need for reliable and comfortable chairs that could be stored with our limited space, we found that Gopak’s Folding Chairs were perfect.”
Replacing the centre’s existing, and in many cases dilapidated, plastic chairs, the Council found the perfect solution with Comfort Steel Upholstered Folding Chairs from leading producer of practical furniture, Gopak.
With the back made of polypropylene, the folding chairs were supplied with the optional addition of upholstered seats. Together with the chair’s deep contoured back, this ensures exceptional comfort and support is still provided when in extended use – key requirements at the Community Centre.
Combined with steel framing, the robust polypropylene plastic ensures that the chairs are long lasting. As well as being easy to manage, they are extremely durable and will still look as good as new after many years of use.
Available in three basic shell colours – black, blue and burgundy – the chairs were supplied with a burgundy back. This was complemented perfectly by the burgundy tweed seating pad, with the colour specifically chosen to match some of the centre’s existing chairs, allowing them to be used together for larger functions or events.
With an elegant and functional design, Comfort Steel Folding Chairs can be easily unfolded, arranged and then just as easily stacked away. With links on the front legs, they can also be set neatly into rows, making them ideal for any formal event where a seating plan is important.
For ease of use and to maximise floor space, a Low Hanging 3 Row Storage Trolley was also selected. Carefully designed to store and transport up to 54 folded chairs, it makes storage much easier at the Community Centre where space is often at a premium. In fact, it has proven so popular that Kirkham Town Council is considering purchasing an additional chair trolley.
