Garador supports National Tree Week

Garador is fast becoming recognised as an environmental champion for British manufacturing.

This summer the Yeovil based garage door manufacturer installed over 1500 solar panels on its roof to provide power for its production facility. Now the company has agreed to support National Tree Week with a donation to UK-based charity, The Tree Council, to plant and care for 25 trees.

“National Tree Week is a wonderful idea,” said Garador’s Managing Director Jon Watson. “It marks the start of the tree planting season and hopefully will see thousands of new trees being planted across the country.

Trees bring our streets and neighbourhoods to life, with their wonderful green foliage and natural beauty. The homes and garage doors which go alongside them, just wouldn’t look the same without them.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of Garador manufacturing garage doors and with such a long heritage, the firm wanted to reaffirm its support for environmental sustainability, recognising that trees are vital for our planet and our well-being.

Jon Watson continues “Trees play an important role keeping the climate, soil and biodiversity in balance. We are very pleased to support National Tree Week.”

Sara Lom, CEO of the Tree Council that is organising National Tree Week, says the event is the UK’s largest annual tree celebration when volunteer groups and tree-lovers come together to plant thousands of trees to mark the start of the tree planting season.

She said: “Trees and hedgerows help us tackle climate change, provide homes for wildlife, improve our health and so much more. We’re so grateful to everyone across the UK, including Garador, for taking part in National Tree Week”.
