Coventry University is an evolving and innovative institution with a growing reputation for excellence. To support its vision of continuous improvement, the university has invested heavily in developing the city campus. This on-going work has included the refurbishment of the Jaguar Building, which provides a learning centre for graduates.
Q-railing recommended installer, Tri-Dev, were tasked with designing and installing a new staircase, a balustrade surrounding the atrium area, and the refurbishment of an existing staircase. The atrium will create a cafe and breakout space wrapped with teaching rooms and academic workspace.
High-quality stainless steel and glass
The refurbishment had to be carried out over a 9 week period to coincide with the academic break in order for the building to open in time for fresher’s week. The solution comprised a range of high-quality stainless steel and glass products combining to give stylish aesthetics that created the contemporary working environment the university was seeking.
Tri-Dev specified Q-railing Easy Glass Slim, a frameless glass balustrade system that provides complete transparency, the ideal solution to create an airy, open working environment. A completely modular system Easy Glass Slim is clean and quick to install, imperative when a tight deadline has to be met.
A total of 80 metres was installed of Q-railing’s Easy Glass Slim system with toughened glass and stainless steel cap rail.
