F. Ball launches flexible ‘Stopgap Fill and Prime’

News

F. Ball and Co. Ltd., the UK's leading manufacturer of flooring adhesives and subfloor preparation products, has launched Stopgap Fill and Prime, a two component, fast-drying, flexible cement-base primer for use over raised access floor panels and substrates with residues of waterproof or bituminous adhesive, prior to the application of a suitable smoothing underlayment.

Stopgap Fill and Prime has been developed for use specifically with Stopgap 700 Superflex or Stopgap 1200 Pro smoothing underlayments.

The primer has been designed to have thixotropic consistency, which enables joints in raised access panels to be filled during application. When used in combination with Stopgap 700 Superflex, it offers a fast-track alternative to using plywood overlays prior to installing resilient floorcoverings.

Stopgap Fill and Prime also delivers exceptional adhesion to a wide range of other subfloor types, including Stopgap waterproof surface membranes, sand/cement screeds, concrete, sound asphalt, granolithic, terrazzo, epoxy and polyurethane resins, and ceramic and quarry tiles.

Stopgap Fill and Prime can be applied as a scratch coat or up to thicknesses of 1mm. It is supplied as a 6.6Kg kit, containing a powder and a liquid, to provide a coverage area of approximately 8.5m2 at a thickness of 0.5mm.

It has a working time of 10-15 minutes and its fast drying formulation means that it will be ready to receive a smoothing underlayment from just 60 minutes, when applied at a temperature of 20oC.
