Dimplex Launches New Solar Collector

9 Jan 2014
News

Dimplex Renewables has launched a new flat plate solar collector (SOL202), offering high efficiency and flexible ease-of-installation to help installers take advantage of the solar thermal opportunities set to be created by the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).

The SOL202 is perfectly suited for domestic installations, offering maximum solar gain to improve efficiency thanks to the Harp configured, laser welded absorber and highly selective blue coating.

The whole assembly is encased in a neatly constructed, lightweight weatherproof aluminium frame, with bonded 3.2mm solar safety glass offering 90% transmission to ensure a wide range of the solar spectrum is absorbed.

Suitable for landscape or portrait orientation with a connection of up to four panels in series, roof kit packages are also available with a choice of easy-to-install Dimplex fixing kits suitable for tile, slate, metal roof, roof integrated, flat roof or free standing. Standard 22mm compression connections ensure quick and reliable installation.

The SOL202 is the latest addition to Dimplex’s vast range of building integrated renewables solutions and comes with a 10 year warranty and Solar Keymark approval to provide added peace of mind.

For complete solar thermal solutions, it is available in a range of system packages together with Dimplex EC-Eau Solar Cylinders, offering high surface area heat exchangers for solar operation and very low standing heat losses.

Clare Campbell, product marketing manager for Dimplex Renewables, said: “With the RHI set to finally come into force this Spring, renewable energy will become an even more attractive option for homeowners who are getting increasingly frustrated with rising energy bills.

“The SOL202, together with the hydraulic packages, associated controls and cylinders already in our range, will provide renewables installers with a highly efficient solar thermal solution to tempt homeowners. Crucially, it is quick, easy and reliable to install too – potentially saving valuable time for installers.”
