Natural Slate
Natural slate retains its popularity as a roof covering as a result of its aesthetic appeal, beautiful variety and use on many majestic buildings in the UK’s architectural heritage. Contemporary understanding of the ecological impact of building materials has enhanced natural slate’s popularity, as it requires a comparably low energy input for processing relative to other alternatives. The proven durability of the best quality natural slate and the demand for reclaimed product, make natural slate a sustainable go-to product.
Cembrit has created a dedicated natural slates division to offer the UK’s specifiers and slaters greater choice of top end material for prestigious roofing contracts. The brands will offer reliable, long term availability, and will enhance the existing range of high quality slates. This development marks the beginning of a new phase in Cembrit’s commitment to natural slate. Visitors to the show will be able to find out more information about this investment and view the full natural slate range, which includes Glendyne, Duquesa, Contessa, Alpina and Montleon.
Fibre Cement Cladding
Cembrit’s range of fibre cement rainscreen claddings in 60 combinations of colour and surface treatment will be shown including Cembrit’s popular ‘through coloured’ cladding board will also be on display at the show. Manufactured from fibre cement, the boards are suitable for use as an architectural feature for external applications. It is available in 11 pastel colours, with an attractive matt finish and a faint directional grain. During the production process, Cembrit cladding undergoes a unique impregnation treatment, which effectively protects against water staining and dirt, ensuring that the façade retains its attractive appearance in both dry and wet weather conditions.
Cembrit representatives will explain to visitors how the combination of colour stability, with a class 0 fibre rating to BS 476 part 6 and a class 1 rating to BS 476 part 7, makes its cladding products ideal for overcladding rainscreen applications. The sheets can be used for a range of applications, including rainscreen cladding, weatherboarding, window elements, fascia, balconies and prefabricated facade elements.
