CarbonLight housing, Kettering, Northants

1 Nov 2011
Case study
Western Red Cedar Shingles.

Interesting Facts:

• The open-plan houses are designed to be energyefficient and sustainable, with high levels of daylight, natural ventilation and renewable technologies.

• The housing is among the first built to the UK government’s definition of zero carbon.

• Designed by HTA Architects, the John Brash Western Red Cedar shingles were fitted by Reed Roofing Midlands.

• The buildings are roofed and clad with Western Red Cedar shingles. The Non-Com Exterior treatment leaves the natural appearance of the timber unchanged, whilst providing a proven, long term fire protection that needs no further maintenance.
