The Bamboo Flooring Company have supplied Camyoga, one of the leading yoga and teacher training centres in the UK, with bamboo flooring for their two locations in Central and South Cambridge. They run over sixty classes a week so have a high footfall of staff, visitors and students coming to the two premises for classes, workshops and to visit the vegan café and juice bar, so required a hardwearing but aesthetically pleasing floor.
The founder of Camyoga decided that bamboo flooring was the right choice for the yoga studios because of its appearance, eco-friendliness, durability and cost effectiveness compared to hardwood flooring. In 2010, 200m² of solid carbonised vertical bamboo flooring was installed into one of the Camyoga premises. They were so pleased with how hardwearing it was that in 2012 they installed 190m² of natural uniclic strand woven (with a Bona anti-slip lacquer) into their second premises. The two different types of bamboo flooring have been used throughout both premises in the reception areas, café, changing rooms and the yoga studios. The strand woven bamboo flooring has also been used in a hot yoga studio as it is more resistant to fluctuations in temperature and humidity.
‘The uniclic natural stand woven has worn brilliantly, two years on it looks as good as new. It is perfect for a yoga studio and it looks beautiful. If I were to do another studio I would use this again’
