Developed by the UK’s leading producer of natural stone products – Cumbria-based stone engineers Burlington – the new Burlington App echoes Apple’s belief that Apps give you the power and versatility to do more than you ever thought possible.
Indeed it is an essential design tool for architects, interior designers, specifiers and discerning homeowners wanting to explore what can be achieved with a quintessentially British stone quarried in the UK from the heart of the English Lake District.
Initially available for download on iPad, but with iPhone and other platforms coming on stream over the coming months, the Burlington App literally gives fingertip access to a myriad of useful information and over 300 images relating to Burlington and its natural stone product offering.
Central to the App’s main appeal is over 90 high-res image samples portraying each of Burlington’s six natural stones and two limestones. As Burlington’s Sales & Marketing Director, Nick Williams is keen to point out. “Probably the single most important attribute of the Burlington App is the unique way in which we can purvey the depth and diversity of our colour palette, not just from stone to stone, but within each stone type.” And it is this specific feature that will make the App a truly dynamic proposition, as the sample images will be changed at regular intervals to reflect the colourings and shades available from the raw material sourced at the time. “In developing the App, we are confident that it will open up a whole new world to anyone interested in sourcing the highest quality stone products that represent the ultimate finishing statement and which are produced from what we believe is the finest stone source in the world,” adds Nick.
In addition to having tailored the App to meet the needs of the company’s operation in America, Burlington Natstone, its partners Stone Source in the USA, Stennex in mainland Europe and Ceco in Ireland, all benefit from a customised version of the App for their own customer base.
As well as depicting the latest range of colour tones available from Burlington, each stone is also supported by a gallery section that displays the product in situ across a plethora of applications and to stunning effect. The Burlington App also pictorially depicts the range of textures and finishes that can be specified, with additional design inspiration ideas flooding out of interior, exterior, domestic and commercial library sections. Not surprisingly, it also provides a portable platform from which individuals can learn more about Burlington’s history and heritage, the bespoke design service that the company offers and its signature stone studio.
Anyone interested in downloading the Burlington App for free will find it within the Apple App Store by simply searching ‘Burlington’.
